Krawiectwo papierowe / Paper Dressmaking

For my today's post for Craft4You I created a dressmaking-themed notebook. I was inspired by the sewing pattern sheet Seams from the Basic Grey's Lucille collection (also dedicated to sewing) - and it just went further on :-)

As I looked through my drawers and boxes I realised that though I don't sew, I have lots of sewing elements and embellishments :-) And so I used a measure-printed ribbon, a spool-shaped button...

...metalową zawieszkę w kształcie starej maszyny Singera (mieliśmy, a jakże!):
...a metal charm shaped like an old Singer sewing machine (of course we had it!):

...the mannequin brad, and the brad I made by glueing buttons to metal bases:

....i tekturowy manekin na tle przeszywanej miarki:
...and a chipboard mannequin with a sewn measure background:

Wewnętrzne okładki ozdobiłam "krawieckimi" stemplami Tima Holtza:
I decorated the inner covers with Tim Holtz "dressmaking" stamps:

The notebook is bound with elastic band I've kept in my stash since the forum hunting times ;-))

Lubię tworzyć takie tematyczne prace, choćby po to, żeby sobie użyć tych wszystkich pierdółek ;-))
I love making such themed projects, just to use all those embellies ;-))

Słodycze dla Mamy / Some Sweets For Mom

Mother's Day is around the corner, it;s high time to think of some gifts. But what do you give to someone who's given you something as priceless as life, love and sacrifice? I guess the best gift would be something equally valuable :-) i.e. something handmade. Thus even a small thing acquires a great value :-)
Following this rule, I created - funny, but for the first time ever - a chocolate bar holder for Mom :-)

The chocolate box is based upon Tilda paper collections, Winter Memories and Country Escape that you can buy from Scrapgaleria. As you can see, the two perfectly match one another and are filled with die-cuts and images to cut out, so that apart from papers I used just a couple of embellishments:

The chocolate holder is of course a 2 in 1 project that includes a tag for writing in wishes :-)

W kieszonce mieści się standardowa tabliczka czekolady:
The pocket holds a standard size bar of chocolate:

Wszystkim Mamom dużo szczęścia i słodyczy! :-)
I wish a lot of sweet happiness to all Moms! :-)

Moje skarby / My Treasures

A oto ramka, którą przygotowałam:
In my weekly post for Craft4You I shared today my intepretation of the newest challenge, this time devoted to kids' theme with the additional requirement of using buttons and brads. And here's the frame I created:

Baza to zwykła, tania, plastikowa chińska ramka, i chociaż zrobiona nad podziw starannie i trzyma kąty proste ;-)), to i tak nie mogła taka pozostać ;-)Najpierw okleiłam boki taśmą washi TH:
The base is just an ordinary, cheap plastic Chinese frame, and even though it was made surprisingly carefully and kept the right angles ;-)) I still couldn't leave it like that ;-) First of all I wrapped all the sides with TH washi tape:

...and then I squeezed in anything I could lay my hands on ;-))

Większość elementów metalowych pomalowałam akrylówkami, a potem przetarłam papierem ściernym, by wydobyć detale. Prawie jak patyna ;-)
I painted most of the metal elements with acrylic paints and then sanded with emery board to get the shiny details. Looks almost like patina ;-)

Tytuł ramki to połączenie naklejek i ozdobnego suwaka:
The title of the frame is a combination of alpha stickers and a decorative zipper:

On the Craft4You blog you can find linked products, I also encourage you to take part in the challenge :-)

Dla miłośników fioletów / For The Fans of Purple

...to which group I do not belong ;-) And therefore, when I got an order for a folded card matching this exploding box, I was worried about double-sided papers in such colours, as I have very few of them - actually, just one collection by Galeria Papieru and that saved me :-)

The front paper is very decorative, so I added solid butterflies decorated with glitter and crystals:

There's also glitter on the flowers, which beautifully corresponds with the opalescent pearl brad:

Brokat pomógł też wydobyć z tła tekturowe litery:
Glitter also helped to get the chipboard letter out of the backround:

There's still one more colour version - aren't you bored yet? :-)

Mariaż zimy z latem / A Winter-Summer Marriage

...i.e. another wedding card with folded edges, this time for Scrapgaleria, using Tilda papers:

Although it looks very spring-ish, it's been made from winter papers, from the Winter memories collection :-) I added beautiful Prima flowers, gorgeous brad with crystals from the Summer Blues set, and charming chipboard sentiment by Scrapiniec :-)

It's another colour palette for this form of a card, some more will be coming soon, and I like them all :-)

Miłego weekendu!
Have a nice weekend!

Mądrości do zapamiętania / Some Wisdom To Remember

Oh my, I finally managed to get here with my today's post for Craft4You! Is your time flying by faster and faster too? Anyway, it's better late than never, and besides LOs don't get too much attention here and I have a LO to share today ;-)

Milionowy raz zdjęcie z jednej sesji, kolejna wersja mojego ulubionego zestawu biel-czerń-turkus.
The photo of the same shoot again, another time my favourite colour combo: black-white-turqouise. Plus a message for my boys to remember :-) I cut out quotations from the Butterfly dp from Teresa Collins' Tell Your Story collection, cut the up into lines and then arranged on the page as journaling:

Oczywiście, nie obyło się bez kwiatów ;-)
Of course, I couldn't have made it without flowers ;-)

Linki do produktów znajdziecie na blogu Craft4You :-)
Miłego wieczoru!
You'll find the links to the supplies I used on the Craft4You blog.
Have a nice evening!

Coś dla biologa / Something For a Biologist

The last card I made within the "thank you teacher" order is the "biological" card. This time I combined the Graphics 45 images with Prima flowers - I wanted to create something like a bestiary with herbarium ;-)

The card's design illustrates the scientific discipline on the one hand, but also messiness and absent-minddeness of a typical researcher - thus simple, geometrical shapes, but scattered and askew, like a heap of papers on a desk:

How it turned out? Judge by yourselves :-) I just want ot say I love working on such orders!

Jeszcze więcej wdzięczności / Some More Gratitude

Apart from a thank you card for a Polish language teacher, I was to make cards for some other teachers as well. Today I'm sharing the card for a maths teacher. It was supposed to be in bright, cheerful, spring colours (the student must have particularly liked the subject ;-)) - as here's how it turned out:

I combined the Galeria papers with the "school" collection by Rae - they're just perfect :-)

Prosta, geometryczna forma, kawałki taśmy i zawieszka w formie linijki - wyszło chyba dość tematycznie? :-)
A simple, geometric form, pieces of measure washi tape and a ruler charm - I guess it's quite theme-oriented? :-)

Miłej niedzieli Wam życzę!
Have a nice Sunday!

Podziękowanie dla nauczyciela / A Teacher's Thank You Card

May does't only mean First Communions and weddings season (though I had that feeling throughout the last week), but it's also exams and graduation time for secondary and high school students - and some of them even feel gratitude towards their teachers! :-) And they want to express it with a special handmade card - and I had the occassion to fulfill that wish lately. Here's the card for a Polish language teacher:

Połączyłam na niej dwie najnowsze kolekcje Lemonade, Vintage Basics i Victorian Garden. Z tej pierwszej pochodzi gazetowe tło i karty "książki":
I combined two latest Lemonade collections, Vintage Basics and Victorian Garden. The background and the pages of my "book" come from the former:

...a piękne róże z drugiej. Połączyłam je z różyczkami przestrzennymi:
...and the beautiful roses from the latter. I mixed them with dimensional mini roses:

Do kompletu dodałam zawieszkę w kształcie gęsiego pióra, a kropką nad "i" jest mini stempelek - idealny do mniejszych wykrojników!
I finished the card off with a metal feather charm and mini sentiment - perfect for those smaller label dies!

Na blogu Lemonade znajdziecie linki do wszystkich materiałów - a u mnie wkrótce kolejne kartki dla nauczycieli :-)
On the Lemonade blog you will find links to all the supplies - and here, soon, some more teacher's cards inspirations :-)

Kwiaty dla Mamy / Flowers For Mum

Yesterday a new challenge started at Craft4You, with the subject of "A flower for Mum". Today is my turn to present a sample for this challenge. I chose papers that are perhaps not very feminine - I used them for this project - and tried to add them a bit of romanticism with roses and gold :-))

Sięgnęłam po moją ulubioną formę prezentacji dwustronnych papierów, czyli wywijanie :-)
I employed my favourite way of presenting double-sided papers, i.e. curling and folding ;-)

The golden glow comes from the detail embossing powder and glitter:

Uroku dodaje również gipiurowa koronka:
The guipure ribbon adds some charm too:

Zachęcam do udziału w wyzwaniu, nagroda czeka :-)
Miłego dnia!
Join us for the challenge, there's a prize waiting :-)
Have a nice day!

Słodki shabby chic / Sweet Shabby Chic

Co powstanie z połączenia tematyki dziecięcej, papierów Tilda i kolorowanego stempelka? Słodki shabby chic :-)
What do you get when you combine baby theme, Tilda papers and a coloured image? Sweet shabby chic :-)

Poszczególne papiery potuszowałam, przeszyłam, ozdobiłam perełkami w płynie, dziurkaczowym borderem i satynową wstążeczką...
I inked all the papers, machine-sewed, added pearl dots, a punch border and satin ribbon...

...i urocze kryształowe serduszka Primy:
...and sweet Prima crystal hearts:

...a obrazek jak zwykle kolorowałam Distressami i dodałam brokatu tu i tam:
...and as usually, I coloured the image with Distress inks, adding some glitter here and there:
